Taking the right steps.

Will any one want to make fruit salad and decide after putting some or all other juicy fruits to put in tomatoes simply because its "fruit" ? , Decide to jump into any train without finding out its destination? He /she will definitely make a mess of the fruit salad and have to dine alone and find him/ herself to blame for jumping into a wrong train, paying extra to get to actual destination and time wasted in the first instance. what if he/she had an important interview?

Did i hear someone say Why didn't the person find the right recipe for fruit salad? And why did he or she not ask for the departure platform and time of his/her train?. You read my mind as i thought so myself.

Now lets apply this scenario to ourselves. Our existence and its purpose, daily activities and above all, Our creator Allah. We find out that for everything we have to do, there must be laid down rules and procedures to follow to achieve success.

In seeking Almighty Allah, we must try as much as possible to know who he is. what he like from us and what he detests us doing i.e what he commands and what he forbids.

Sometimes we are happy and content with what we are doing because we feel yes i was commanded by Allah to do this so i am doing it. However, the question is are we doing it exactly the way we ought to do it? Sometimes we might be doing the right things but if we are not doing them how they ought to be done, they may become haram.

We must seek Allah with pure intention. Purification of intention is very important for every Muslim.

We must have made mistakes in the past or are still making mistakes. Never give up on the mercies of Allah.

"And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-forgiving, most Merciful." (Quran 4 Vs 110)

Accountability.

The thought is always there that just one day, i mean one day we will all return to our creator. Then the reality struck when i lost my darling father on the 12th of April 2003. He was such a lovely person that his absence was easily felt by all that knew him.
Sometimes i sit alone and remember all the memories we shared together, his advice, his loving care especially when i am sick and he would sit by my bed in the middle of the night just like a woman should. He shared in my pain and sorrow and left a legacy. I could remember the comments of the friends and co workers made about him. There was a phrase that was common to them all. " Accountability is synonymous to Alhaji Adunola." he tried to be Just in his dealings with people and would work so hard to earn all he had. May Allah Accept him as a Muslim and grant him Jannah (amin)
This is where i am going. we are all going to account to Allah. Either we like it or not, whatever we do are all written down. where do you wantyours written? "Sijjin or 'illiyun" (quran 83 Suratul AT-Mutaffifin)
